Enhancement of electron-hole superfluidity in double few-layer graphene
We propose two coupled electron-hole sheets of few-layer graphene as a new nanostructure to observe superfluidity at enhanced densities and enhanced transition temperatures. For ABC stacked few-layer graphene we show that the strongly correlated electron-hole pairing regime is readily accessible experimentally using current technologies. We find for double trilayer and quadlayer graphene sheets...
متن کاملSimulation study of the electron mobility in few-layer MoS2 metal¬タモinsulator-semiconductor field-effect transistors
This work analyzes the electron mobility in few-layer MoS2-based metal–insulator-semiconductor field-effect transistors. To do it, the Poisson and Schrödinger equations are self consistently solved using the effective mass approximation to model the six equivalent K valleys characteristic of multilayer MoS2. The mobility is calculated using the Kubo-Greenwood approach under the momentum relaxat...
متن کاملObservation of Optical and Electrical In-Plane Anisotropy in High-Mobility Few-Layer ZrTe5.
Transition metal pentatelluride ZrTe5 is a versatile material in condensed-matter physics and has been intensively studied since the 1980s. The most fascinating feature of ZrTe5 is that it is a 3D Dirac semimetal which has linear energy dispersion in all three dimensions in momentum space. Structure-wise, ZrTe5 is a layered material held together by weak interlayer van der Waals force. The comb...
متن کاملFew-layer HfS2 transistors
HfS2 is the novel transition metal dichalcogenide, which has not been experimentally investigated as the material for electron devices. As per the theoretical calculations, HfS2 has the potential for well-balanced mobility (1,800 cm(2)/V·s) and bandgap (1.2 eV) and hence it can be a good candidate for realizing low-power devices. In this paper, the fundamental properties of few-layer HfS2 flake...
متن کاملHigh-mobility transport anisotropy and linear dichroism in few-layer black phosphorus
Two-dimensional crystals are emerging materials for nanoelectronics. Development of the field requires candidate systems with both a high carrier mobility and, in contrast to graphene, a sufficiently large electronic bandgap. Here we present a detailed theoretical investigation of the atomic and electronic structure of few-layer black phosphorus (BP) to predict its electrical and optical proper...
